Do I need a building permit?
Yes, before we can build your carport, we need council approval in the form of a Building Permit. This can take anywhere from a few days to 6 weeks. In some cases, Planning Approval is also needed first, which may extend the process depending on your local shire.

Can you apply to the council on my behalf?
We’re happy to handle the entire approval process for you, including submitting all drawings, site plans, and engineering documents. If you prefer to do it yourself, we can provide all the necessary paperwork.

What warranty is provided?
The structure is backed by a 15-year warranty and the solar panels have a 30 year power warranty and 12 year product warranty. See below for PDFs.

Does it come with an inverter?
No, it does not include an inverter, we can provide a separate quote for you or you can source one.

Can I see my savings?
Yes, we can send you a detailed report showing your estimated savings and payback period.

Is installation included?
We offer full-service installation, shared options or DIY for installation. The costs can vary so we provide a free on site quote.

Is it compatible with battery storage systems?
Yes, the carport can be integrated with battery storage systems. We can quote for a system and make use of the current government rebates starting July 1, 2025.

Can it withstand extreme weather?
Absolutely. The Umax Solar Carport is engineered to meet Australian standards and is Gamcorp Test Certified.
